Rise to Power
In 1923 with the help of the Nazi political party Adolf Hitler tried to overthrow the government in Bavaria, Germany but failed and was arrested. While in prison, Hitler wrote Mein Kampf which means my struggle. Mein Kampf outlined Hitler's beliefs and plans for the Nazi party, it eventually gained popularity which helped Hitler gain support to start putting his plans into action. In 1929 the American stock market crashed and America had to stop giving loans to Germany which caused over 6 million people in Germany to be jobless which created more support for the Nazi party. In 1932 Paul Von Hindenburg made Hitler dictator for four years, but in 1934 Hindenburg died so Hitler became leader and call himself Der Führer.
Once in Power

Once in power, in 1935 Hitler began the draft again and in 1936 he re-occupied the Rhineland breaking the Versailles Treaty. In 1938, kristallnacht happened in Germany and Austria where, 7,500 Jewish owned businesses had their windows broken, 260 synagogues were burned and 25,000 Jewish people were sent to concentration camps. In 1939 Hitler took Czechoslovakia and in 1940 invaded Denmark and Norway. In 1941 the Blitz began during which, the Germans bombed London every night for 8 months. Also in 1941, the final solution was proposed by Heinrich Himmler, the final solution was to kill all 11 million European Jews.
